A New Chapter for CFJ—and a $25,000 Match

Dear Reader,

We are turning a new page at the Center for Faith and Justice, and we want you to be among the first to hear about an important next step: CFJ is now an independent nonprofit.

The change may sound administrative; what it makes possible is not. It gives CFJ a stronger foundation from which our work can grow and evolve. We are especially grateful to City Church San Francisco, whose creative vision helped make CFJ’s work possible and brought us to this milestone.

What will not change is our vision and mission. We are a learning community pursuing a theological imagination for the common good, rooted in the belief that communities of belonging that embody faith and justice are not only possible—they are God’s dream for our world.

This transition will strengthen our work in several important ways:

Shared Governance: Our advisory board will transition into a governing board, taking on legal authority and responsibility for the organization and helping guide CFJ into the future.

Our Team: We have accomplished a remarkable amount with a small core team. In the coming year, we will build the staff capacity needed to sustain our growing programs, partnerships, and network.

Your Support: This transition also means gifts can now be made directly to CFJ and are tax-deductible. Through August 31, we also have the opportunity to meet a $25,000 matching gift, with every contribution matched dollar for dollar. Will you help us meet the match? (Click here to make a contribution today.)

We are so grateful for the network members, program fellows, teaching fellows, partner organizations, and donors who make this work possible. This new chapter belongs to all of us, and we are excited about what we will continue to build together.

With gratitude,
